Characteristics:
KATON®/FKM FK1 O-rings 75 Duro FDA and 3A Sanitary Grade:
KATON® is the trade name for the fluorocarbon elastomers (FKM) of KATON polymers. These compounds offer optimal chemical resistance, weather resistance, and low compression set within a temperature range of -20°F to +400°F. These components are listed in the U.S. Federal Regulations (21 CFR 177.2600) and can be used in repeated contact with food.

Additionally, they meet the 3A sanitary requirements for use with milk and edible oils. Some of our O-rings and materials also meet an additional requirement of containing no animal-derived ingredients (ADI-free). Pharmaceutical, food, and water treatment industries have many demanding sealing applications.

Unlike other industries where chemical resistance or temperature resistance are the critical criteria for selecting seals, food and pharmaceutical applications may increase cleanliness requirements and regulatory challenges. Elastomer seals used in process equipment, pumps, valves, pipes, fittings, reactors, and bulk containers must be able to withstand various process media, potent active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and rigorous cleaning and disinfection processes.

Additionally, seals must comply with an increasing number of legislative manufacturing regulations and hygiene standards. MAXMOLD®'s KATON® provides comprehensive sealing solutions that meet the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Pharmacopeia - Class VI (USP Class VI), 3-A sanitary standards, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality standards.

In addition to industry-standard elastomers like EPDM and silicone, MAXMOLD® also offers KATON® perfluoroelastomers for extreme operating conditions. We also provide a range of FKM materials that comply with or are approved under various regulatory standards.

KATON®FKM-FK1 O-ring:
The FKM-FK1 O-ring is a chemically resistant fluorocarbon FKM-FK1 O-ring with excellent chemical resistance, oil resistance, extreme temperature resistance, low compression set, low permeability, and excellent aging characteristics.
It offers good resistance to ozone, high temperatures, oxygen, mineral oils, synthetic hydraulic fluids, fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons, and many organic solvents and chemicals.
Applications include: hydraulic oil, petroleum-based oils, silicone oils and greases, mineral oils, vegetable oils, lubricating greases, aliphatic hydrocarbons (fuels, butane, propane, natural gas), aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene), chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichloroethylene and carbon tetrachloride), chlorinated water, gasoline, fuels, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas, propane, diesel, high vacuum, ozone, and weather.
Avoid use in ketones, hot water, steam, brake fluids, alkalis, and Skydrol® fluids, ammonia, amines, caustics, Skydrol 500, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), low molecular weight organic acids (formic acid and acetic acid).
Working temperature range: -5℃ to 220℃
